This policy explains the cookies and similar storage used by RuleInside, and how to control them.
It covers ruleinside.com (our website), agents.ruleinside.com (the merchant portal), and the RuleInside voice widget that appears on merchants' online stores.
It also covers storage that is not technically a cookie — localStorage and sessionStorage. The rules apply to storing or reading information on your device, not to the word "cookie", so we treat them the same. Most of what the product itself uses is this kind of storage rather than cookies.
1. Your choice
When you first visit ruleinside.com you are asked which categories of cookies you accept.
Only strictly necessary cookies are set before you choose. Everything else — analytics, performance and advertising — is set only if you accept it. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time from the cookie settings link in the site footer, and withdrawing is as easy as giving consent.
The consent banner's preferences panel lists every individual cookie currently in use, with its purpose and its lifetime, and is kept up to date automatically. It is the authoritative list; the categories below explain what each group is for.
2. The categories
Strictly necessary. Needed for the site to work and to remember your cookie choice. These do not require consent and cannot be switched off. They include the cookie that records your consent itself, and the cookie that remembers your language.
Functional. Remember choices you have made so the site behaves the way you left it — for example your appearance preference. This category also covers the Brevo chat window: if you open it, it stores what it needs to keep your conversation going between pages.
Analytics and performance. Help us understand how the site is used, which pages people reach, and where things go wrong. We use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity for this. Microsoft Clarity records how visitors move through the page — mouse movement, scrolling and clicks — which is more detailed than counting page views, so we name it separately rather than folding it into "analytics".
Advertising. Used to measure and target our own marketing. We use the Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram), the LinkedIn Insight Tag, and Apollo.
Apollo is not advertising measurement, and we would rather say so than let it sit unnamed in a category. It is a business-to-business sales tool. It tries to work out which company your visit comes from, and can show us that visit alongside business contact details it already holds independently of this website. We use it to see which businesses are interested in RuleInside. It runs only if you accept this category, and declining stops it completely. There is more detail in section 2 of our Privacy Policy.
3. The merchant portal
agents.ruleinside.com is used only by merchants signing in to manage their account.

All are first-party. The portal carries no advertising or analytics cookies and does not track you across other sites.
4. The voice widget on a merchant's store
The widget runs in an isolated frame served from our own domain, and stores what it needs on our domain, not on the store's — which is why a script on the store cannot read it.

The widget sets no advertising cookies and no cross-site tracking. It does not read the store's own cookies, and the store cannot read the widget's.
Because this storage exists only to make a conversation you started work correctly, we treat it as strictly necessary. It is deleted when the conversation ends or the storage expires.
5. The WordPress plugin
Merchants who install our WordPress plugin get the widget described in section 4. The plugin itself sets no additional cookies on visitors.
6. Managing cookies
- On our site: use the cookie settings link in the footer at any time.
- In your browser: every major browser lets you block or delete cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop parts of the site working.
- Analytics opt-out: Google provides a browser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics across all sites.
Clearing your browser storage will also clear your recorded cookie choice, so you will be asked again.
7. Changes
We will post any change on this page and update the date at the top.
